Technical Support

This page generates programming instructions for RAK-2 and RCS series systems that have firmware version 6 in the embedded RFC-1. Users of earlier models, including RAK-1 systems and stand-alone RFC-1 systems, should use the programming pages that are compatible with those models.

Program the Site Identification Phrase

The RFC-1/B identifies itself when it answers the telephone or places a call to alert personnel of an alarm condition. The phrase that the RFC-1/B delivers is programmable so that sites can be uniquely identified.

The Site ID Phrase can be programmed with any combination of words, letters or numbers from the word table. The factory setting is "This is RFC-1/B".

  • the Site ID Phrase may contain up to 6 words/phrases from the word table
  • each word is identified by a code consisting of two values (called V1 and V2)

Special Conditions

There are two special cases involving the final word of the site identification phrase.

  • If word 6 is programmed with 500ms pause the RFC-1 omits the "enter" prompt when it answers an incoming call.
  • If word 6 is programmed with 200ms pause the RFC-1 waits two extra seconds before it says "enter" when it answers an incoming call.
